About This Course

Tottori Golf Club sits on a hill at Hamasaka, inside San'in Kaigan National Park, and looks down on the Tottori Sand Dunes and the Sea of Japan. The club began in 1953 on another site and moved here in July 1964, opening under its present name. There are nine holes, each played twice from separate front and back tees, which makes an 18-hole round of 6,164 yards and par 72 from the regular tees, or 5,397 yards from the ladies' tees. The club calls it short but strategic, with the short game and course management deciding the score: the wind comes in off the sea, the grain on the Korai greens runs toward the water, and the club itself rates the par-five 8th, played again as the 17th, as its hardest hole. Visitors can book a round, and the drive is about 15 minutes from JR Tottori Station or 10 minutes from Tottori Airport, along Route 9 toward the dunes.
